The first edition of the textbook was printed in 1996. The multi-media text combined biographical information, artist photographs, Power Point slides, performance videos, and four cassettes containing songs by artists important in the history of Rock and Roll. A revised and expanded edition of the text was printed in 2003. The new version increased the biographical information for each artist, added song lyrics, expanded the years covered, and converted the now 119 songs to five compact disks. The textbook was written and put together as an educational project and is not for sale.
