These Boots Are Made For Walkin': Women in Rock and Roll - The 1960's
The second course in the Women in Rock and Roll series will include lecture, discussion, photos, and vintage video into a lively exploration of the lives and careers of some of the most important female artists in rock and roll from 1963 until the end of the decade.
Among those covered in the class will be The Supremes, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, The Shangri-Las, Dionne Warwick, Joni Mitchell, Martha & the Vandellas, Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane, Nancy Sinatra, Cass Elliott and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas, Cher and many others.
